Old Hendriksen Transformation Products Review

Old Hendriksen Transformation Set - Cosmetic Composition

Two years in a row I have received a samples set of the Ole Hendriksen 3 Little Wonders Mini products from Sephora and I’m finally realizing how much I need to splurge on the full-size products. The stand out products are the Invigorating Night Transformation Gel and the Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer. I looked forward to every Thursday night (chemical exfoliation night) when I could dip into these mini jars for a heavy exfoliation and the lightest moisturizer ever.

Invigorating Night Transformation Gel

Transformation Gel Review - Cosmetic CompositionThe product name specifies “night” for a reason as this is a pretty hefty at-home chemical exfoliant and would destroy your skin in the sunshine. With glycolic and lactic acid sitting at the top of the ingredient list this product should be used with caution. The directions state that this gel should be applied in a thin layer after cleansing and absorbed for a bit before topping off with a moisturizer – and then left overnight. It was a little weird to apply an exfoliating gel and not remove it after a few minutes, but I loved the instant burn I felt. This exfoliant literally always left my skin feeling soft and satisfied. I have normal skin with a tendency to purge after using new products but I never had any reactions with this gel. Although the ingredient list does host a good amount of extracts so this may not be a great product for those with hypersensitive skin. If you’re looking for a good blend of AHAs (glycolic acid and lactic acid) this would definitely be a great chemical exfoliant investment.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycolic Acid, Glycerin, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Propylene Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Citric Acid, Parfum/Fragrance, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Sodium Levulinate, Calcium Ascorbate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Tocopherol, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Sodium Anisate, Calcium Carbonate, Calcium Threonate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Benzyl Benzoate

Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer

Transformation Moisturizer Review - Cosmetic CompositionThe texture and hydration power of this moisturizer are insane. The whipped product is light as a feather with an almost velvety texture that feels very relieving when applied (especially after the transformation gel). It instantly calms down my skin and forms a perfect barrier of protection and hydration. The ingredient list is basically build up of emollients and hydrators followed by a lot of extracts and preservatives. Ole Hendriksen boasts the fruit extracts, antioxidants, and sandalwood/licorice/chamomille extracts as the all-star ingredients meant to transform out skin into a hydrated and evenly toned. While I think the transformation gel that I was using prior to this product did more of the heavy-lifting transformation wise this moisturizer was still magical. I wouldn’t rely on this moisturizer to do much in regards to pigmentation or resurfacing but it will make your skin feel super smooth. If you have a chance to splurge on a lightweight, oil-free daily moisturizer I’d recommend giving this one for a spin.
